Mohammed Jabir

Meet:

Mohammed Jabir, BSc, MBACP, Integrative Counsellor

I am BACP Registered Counsellor who is currently working towards accreditation. I studied Counselling at a university level, completing my bachelors to a first class standard on an Accredited course. I have a deep passion and care for helping people, and try to carry this spirit into my therapeutic work.

I created this low-cost counselling service in order to reduce the financial barriers to seeking help.

My journey towards becoming a counsellor began in 2023, where I decided to step away from my roles in health and fitness to pursue further education in Counselling. This decision was a huge transition, and came out of a

"...deep, genuine curiosity about human suffering, complexity, freedom and self-knowledge."

Since that moment, I have been striving to become the best counsellor I possibly can. Despite the challenges and difficulties of this profession, my passion and commitment has rarely wavered.

Particularly through my experience with complex clients navigating substance abuse, which in fact reinforced my sense of purpose and dedication towards helping others and seeing them thrive.

"It is with this commitment and vigour that I engage with my clients, nurturing the human connection between us, and deepening into the therapeutic relationship."

Addiction/Substance Abuse

Understanding causes of addiction and releasing from cycles of dependency.

Person-Centred
  • Empowers you to find solutions in a safe, empathic environment.

  • This modality focuses on creating a secure relational space that nurtures you and provides the freedom to discover creative answers.

At the heart of my method is an emphasis on connection, relationship and depth:  grounded in the person-centered approach. Beyond this, I exercise integration, incorporating other theories and modalities to deepen and inform our work together. This allows me to tailor therapy for the individual and their specific needs, instead of being bound by a single approach.

Below are a range of key issues and difficulties I work with:

And More.

Integrative counselling is inherently flexible, and allows to address a vast spectrum of challenges. Please enquire further  to discuss whether your specific challenge is viable for this approach.

What I Can Help With + My Approach

Depression

Exploring low moods and feelings of hopelessness to rediscover a sense of vitality.

Navigating Trauma

Processing painful past experiences within a secure and empathetic space.

Beyond Pathology, Labels and Diagnosis, I Also Work With Individuals Who:
  • Are simply trying to navigate the complexities of self, culture, society, and existence.

  • Who often feel disconnected in their roles, relationships and day to day life.

  • Who despite external success and security, feel inwardly empty, discontented and unhappy.

  • Who struggle with relationships, insecurities, and fears of intimacy/vulnerability.

  • Who are searching for meaning, purpose and depth in their existence.

My Approach

"I think one of the biggest barriers to Counselling is the assumption that one has to have a diagnosis or mental health condition to seek out help. It doesn't fully account for the inherent complexity of human experience and existence; the conditions we live in; and the reality that we all struggle and suffer."

Relationship & Attachment Difficulties

Exploring relational and attachment patterns to build deeper connections.

Self-Exploration

Exploring self deeply, uncovering thoughts, beliefs, emotions, and conditioning.

Cognitive-Behavioral
  • Explores cognitive and emotional patterns, linking them to core beliefs.

  • It provides practical techniques to help cope, while shifting rigid patterns of thought, emotion, and behaviour.

Grief & Loss

Finding empathy and support amid the pain and complexity of losing a loved one.

Existential Exploration/Difficulties

Examining meaning, purpose, identity, and freedom in a secure, reflective space.

  • Addresses fundamental questions of existence, such as death, meaning, purpose, freedom, and responsibility.

  • It confronts these realities to help you live a more aligned, authentic, and meaningful life.

Existential

"One of the most profound aspects of my counselling experience so far, has been the depth of the therapeutic relationship. It has been striking to witness how far it reaches, and the responsibility that comes with holding that space for another. It is something that has become quite sacred and deeply valuable in my eyes, largely defining how i work, on a foundation of depth and connection."

Psychodynamic
  • Explores thoughts, feelings, patterns, and past experiences to gain insight into present behaviors.

  • This can often reach into childhood and past experiences to understand the roots of a problem.
